Snap Dragons
How strong, I do love thee for sharing your sonnets,
Wrong am I to compare thee to inclement day;
Scoff as I may, beyond my own drunken vomits,
Lovely laughter of your lungs lantern my leeway;
Bow to giddy goddess who bodes your gay presence,
Kneel to king’s knight, sleuth of damsel’s dreaded demons;
Worship the creator of your soothing essence,
Sway softly in the solace of pooling dream ponds;
Nowhere in the world do wistful words ring truer,
Than from the painted lips of a seasoned liar;
Lies plucked from the sky and served on silver skewer,
Truth laid to rest, ablaze, upon funeral pyre;
Nubile novice maiden untouched, sweet and demure,
Then, unbridled by need, yields virtue to desire.
