Snowcast

Snows are on the way,

crystal flakes will pray;

let them have their say,

God will bring what may.

Blanket the earth in white,

drape the shrubs from sight;

wrap the dark of night,

make the whole world light.

Soften all that's hard,

inspire every bard;

cleanse all that is charred,

embrace us glacial guard.

suspend our disbelief,

extend us your relief;

unchain us from our grief,

unleash your mild mischief.

This is so lovely and how very clever of you to make each line rhyme, really tricky in my limited experience to get the poem to make sense and your poem certainly does.

Thanks acaetnna. Like modern rappers, I think in rhymne but can't recite like rappers do but need to write it. great to see you again.

yep. It's God's whiteout on an ugly world, softens the harshness, mellows the masses, set's poets to the fires of passion, and gets lovers to snuggle. great write.~~~MFB III

Thanks MFBIII for the visit and image rich comment. God's whiteout implies the correction of a mistake - ugly yet undeniably beautiful. Thanks for the great comment especially the snuggling lovers.

I Had to read this Sligobay - I love the snow, although I rarely see it where I am currently living. You captured me with your words and my mind wandered through the snow once again. Great work here!

Thank you for this.

Very nice. Snow blankets all the filth, for a short time, and brings the night alive.

You are a wonderful poet. And you have much good to say.

Wonderful to see you reading BenWritings. You have such natural poetic gifts that so many of us have come to enjoy and appreciate on Hubpages. Is japtaker really your genius kin? I sent a private poem in a snow motif to a lover of mine this morning. We were your age when we were lovers and went in different directions but she remains a loyal friend and follower. She teaches poetry to special ed kids and is oh so brilliant and dedicated. I also sent her one of my favorite love poems written and recited by Pablo Neruda. If you love to be in love then you must study the works of Pablo Neruda. Thanks for the praise which is undeserved. Study the great poets of our times and you will become one of them.

Yes justin is my brother haha

and thank you very much for the flattery.

Whats crazy is that I feel like my writing has actually gotten significantly better just in the past 3-4 days

the most recent ones I have written and published are all my favorites.

I think some of it has to do with the support I have received, and the belief people have in me. Plus the many great poems I have been reading

Young BenWritings: I feel like Yoda (old) in Star Wars talking to a Jedi-Write; feel the force - let the force take you over and give you strength. The praise and encouragement that you have received is well-deserved and therefore not flattery. It is a good personal quality to remain humble and you have that quality. Your exuberance is refreshing and fuels your enthusiasm. If all things are your favorites then you have no favorites rather preferences. Keep reading. Keep writing. You will succeed.

This is quite nice and somewhat less cold sounding than how I envision and think of winter. Nice poem and like your thoughts,

Mm

Thanks for your visit Maggie May and kind words. The snow in Ireland is warmer than Canadian snow.
